I took the idea for this icon from the work of Sergei Pomian. The artist gave his consent for his work to be used as a model.
how it was made
Another icon that came about in a rather unusual way. I had an interesting little panel but couldn’t quite decide what to put on it. Before leaving for the plein-air retreat in Czerwińsk, which always ends on 15 August, the feast of Our Lady of the Herbs, the idea came to me to work on this very icon.
