description
A depiction of Sophia, the Wisdom of God.
how it was made
The icon was created as my personal contribution to the celebrations of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland, which fell last year. The Droga Ikony (The Way of the Icon) community, during its 3-year preparations for this extraordinary anniversary, took up the initiative of honouring it by writing a series of icons. Over those three years we were guided by a different theme each year. The fruit of our work was the exhibition GO AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL. (More about the exhibition on this site under the “About me” tab.) The icon took part in the 1st Iconographic Competition “Epiphany of Beauty”, organised by the Museum of Icons in Supraśl, and qualified for the final. In its new Home since 7 October 2021, in Warsaw.
